Wearables: Redefining Healthcare
01 - 02 December, 2020 | GIANT Health 2020As part of the leading health tech event GIANT Health 2020, Thrive Wearables is curating a session on Wearables: Redefining Healthcare. We are exploring the role wearables and other human-centric connected technologies are playing in a rapidly changing health landscape.
Schedule

13:00 – 13:45
13:45 – 14:00 Q&A
Hearables: Are we approaching transformative health monitoring?
Ear based technologies are not new, but we are on the cusp of a revolution in therapeutic technologies based in the ear. With a very strong precedent set by those who use ear based technology to listen to music and a trend towards breaking the stigma of hearing aid use, sensor enabled devices are going to be mainstream in a few years. We talk to experts in the field and explore what this means for health.

14:45 – 15:00 Q&A
Muscle stimulation for rehabilitation and recovery
From marginal gains in sports to major improvements in injury rehabilitation, stimulation of muscles is hitting the big time. There is a huge range of applications and some very impressive approaches to combinational and targeted solutions for health improvement. Our panel discuss the state of play and the opportunities for our health.

Digital Biomarkers: How do we get the quality real-world datasets we need for effective clinical trials?
Despite the wave of digital innovation in pharma and the need for real world data and de-centralised trials, the use of wearables and the adoption of digital biomarkers is still relatively low. There is great potential for wearables to increase the quality and quantity of trial data, to exploit novel endpoints and to improve patient engagement and retention. We examine the reasons for the slow uptake and identify effective approaches to improving adoption.
