The Head of Marketing role at Thrive

The Head of Marketing will have a digital focus and report to the CEO. You will work with the team to shape and focus Thrive’s brand identity and drive awareness, engagement and conversion among target audiences. You will have autonomy to inform and implement the end-to-end marketing strategy, working with internal and external collaborators. While this role has a digital focus, the successful candidate would have strong experience in traditional marketing such as events and PR.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

As we’re a relatively small team, all roles offer a diverse range of activities. We know that in order for a team to function well, clear accountability is needed, and we have an Accountability and Responsibility framework across the organisation.

The scope of the role is detailed below, specifying areas of accountability and responsibility, as well as you’ll be expected to support:

  • Strategy and planning:
    • Develop core message and voice
    • Develop audience engagement and conversion strategy
    • Work with the Sales Team to consistently deliver qualified leads
  • Communications and messaging:
    • Manage and implement content strategy across all digital channels such as website, email and social channels in collaboration with new and existing contractors
    • Support across the business to ensure all external communications and messaging are in line with brand guidelines
    • Support the proposal response process (incl. detailed RFP requirements) with content creation and brand assets
  • Brand identity:
    • Maintain Thrive’s brand guidelines and manage rebranding initiatives
    • Manage design and production for all marketing materials and ensuring consistent brand assets are used at all times
    • Ensure a robust and secure technical infrastructure for our websites
  • Analytics and reporting: (data & evaluation):
    • Working with new and existing contractors to develop data monitoring systems
    • Regularly review and report on data analytics to inform marketing decisions and strategy
    • Manage Mailchimp database in accordance with Thrive’s data policy and GDPR
  • Event marketing and PR:
    • Support new and existing contractors with traditional media relations and PR
    • Support new and existing contractors with event development and marketing
  • General:
    • Networking, event attendance and knowledge sharing initiatives
    • Collaborative marketing and commercial activities with clients and partners

Responsibilities

  • You will have a broad range of experience in integrated marketing with a minimum of 4+ years experience in relevant roles, specifically in the emerging tech and digital space. The Head of Marketing will need to be able to assimilate technical information and transform into engaging content for a range of audiences.

    • Have exceptional marketing and communication skills

    • Hold a strong degree (this does not have to be in marketing) and have a desire to learn about cutting edge technologies

    • Be a creative problem solver and seeker of opportunities

    • Be a confident team member and contributor

    • Be organised and able to prioritise to make maximum use of time and resources

    • Enjoy working in a small, but highly talented team

  • We will ask the long-list to prepare a short response, stating why they are a good fit for the role
  • Anonymised scoring will then take place
  • Top scorers will be invited to interview and a pre-interview task will be shared (we’re much more interested in what people could do with us rather than a CV, so it’s good to be able to chat through an approach to an activity)
  • We will hold shorter, meet the team interviews with some of the Thrive team to understand what candidates value in a place of work
